Since early 2002 the US three piece makes the music scene insecure with their very energetic industrial rock/metal mix. After 2003's "Mutual Bonding Through Violation", a collection of demos and remixes, we now get served their debut album, "Transhuman".
Featuring the mixing and production help by Jason Novak (Acumen, DJ? Acucrack) and Chris Cozort (lammynewt), the record unbosoms itself as a rollercoaster trip. Caused by the interaction between songs like erupting volcanos and calm pieces with a trippy, relaxed face. In addition, Cyanotic are diving through a varied sea regarding sounds, rhythms, and melodic colors. Imagine if The Final Cut, Hate Dept., Minstry, 16 Volt, and Acumen Nation would make a fiery party, Cyanotic could be a very suitable addition to the club. Sawing & crunchy guitar walls, effervescing electronics, samples and rhythms plus the aggressive, distorted voice of Sean Payne leads you through this trip.
You will get an energy injection by exploding tracks like "Order Out Of Chaos", "Insurgence" with its breaks and cool synth spots, "Sensory Deprivation" with its notably dithyrambic chorus, "Beta Blocker" with its pulsating drum'n'bass beats, the groovy "Deface" or the hunting "Antithesis". With regard to some more laid-back but nevertheless exciting moments you will surely enjoy "Actuator", the dark and apocalyptic "Transhuman", the concluding "Higher States Of Consciousness", and "Axiom". The latter being kinda Jekyll & Hyde, after a very thoughtful, atmospheric first part some guitar aggressiveness suddenly shows up in the middle of the song and turns things around. This record is definitely a recommendation for all fans of the above mentioned bands and all fans of aggressive electronic / industrial.
