Our Role Models are Machines

Review by Electro Culture

Cyanotic is angry and they want the whole world to know it. Their debut CD, Mutual Bonding Through Violation, is a hardcore trip down the Coldwave/Synthcore highway. Drew Rosander's grinding guitars combined with Sean Payne's menacing vocals and harsh synths bring you to your knees from the opening riffs. The duo borrows from a variety of genres including EBM, Trip Hop and Industrial Metal to build an 8 track MCD that includes 2 remixes.

Heavy on distortion, the band more than once tips its hat to Trent Reznor. Although there is nothing terribly unique about this CD (you get that "been there, done that" feeling from its programming), it certainly accomplishes what it sets out to do. It's the perfect CD after a tough day at work being abused by the boss.

Recommendation -- If you are a fan of Prodigy, Snake River Conspiracy or The Crow and Matrix soundtracks, this is a must have CD. If you are looking for a melodic trip down the electronica highway, this is not your cup of tea. Only the intense need apply!
