Our Role Models are Machines

Review by Abrasive Rock

This is basically a mix of Skinny Puppy and KMFDM. Many things about this demo reveal that this band has some talent. This is one of those bands that are so close to getting it right that it just plain bugs me. It's obvious they have they talent -- but seem more interested in just doing a copy of their influences. Now if you are a big industrial fan -- this is a well done piece of work. The production is crisp, the mix leaves nothing too buried, the selection and placement of samples is also well done. The vocals could have used a more varied mix of effects. After a couple of songs everything seems to blur as one. It's because of this that no song is allowed to stand out.

Although this band is not ready for the big time just yet -- there is tons of potential. Maybe a bigger focus on guitars and vocals and they could be a force to be reckoned with. I recommend this to any hardcore industrial fan -- but the rest of us should wait to see how this band's sound develops over time.
